There are an abundance of functional mushroom products hitting the shelves these days, and some of them are actually using either a combination of mycelium and fruiting bodies or just the mycelium itself. We're big believers that the fruiting bodies are where most of the goodness lies. Mycelium is the vegetative part of the fungus which grows in a labyrinthine mass underground. This mass doesn’t have nearly the high levels of potent compounds that are found within the fruiting bodies, and when it is cultivated in a controlled environment and harvested for functional mushroom wellness products, mycelium is often injected into grains (rice, oats, sorghum etc.). What you end up with is not only a less potent presentation of the fungus, but all the starch of the substrate too. This results in far less of the mycological superheroes, such as beta glucans and triterpenoids, which are responsible for most of the antioxidant, neuroprotective and health-promoting properties of the mushrooms. Where these are found in the greatest density is, you guessed it, the fruiting bodies of the mushrooms themselves.

After a global search and analyzing a lot of lab reports, we chose our organic mushrooms from a Canadian company who grows them in the wild forests of China. Yes, we were concerned about pollution, pesticides and contamination, but so is the Canadian company. Our mushrooms are grown in a remote part of China with no pollution, clean water, lots of rain and low population. They are grown using no pesticides and no fertilizers, and on their natural substrate (wood). Our suppliers are transparent about where and how these mushrooms are harvested and we are highly confident they are the best source in the world.

Yes they are. Every active ingredients we use (botanicals, mushrooms, etc.) come with Certificates of Analysis (test results). In addition, we take our whole product and get each batch tested for pesticides, heavy metals, and contaminants with a third-party lab in the USA.

Becauseour gummiesare dried, they last longer than the expiration date we're required to state on the packaging. You can bet on at least 6-12 months beyond their expiration date if they are stored in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
